Blood iron count of 1, a blood oxygen level around 50, but pulse oxygen levels of 98-100?
I understand you need iron to carry oxygen in the blood, and my husband's iron count was 1. His blood oxygen count was maybe 50, but yet his cells were registering oxygen levels of around 100. How did the oxygen get to his cells, if the blood was not carrying much of it to the cells?
His cells got oxygen through protein channels located on the cell membrane, the phospholipid bilayer surrounding a cell.
